After an informal inventory of the files posted in the “LESSONS” section of the TedGreene.com site, we determined that there were “some” files that needed attention – either because they needed cleaning up (straightening, removing dirt, fixing yellow spots, improving the size/dpi, or just getting a clearer scanned copy), or they needed “translation/transcription” pages or music notation because they might be too difficult for people to follow/understand. Some pages needed to be relocated, and some with multiple pages needed to be combined.
We’ll be posting these regularly as “Lesson File Upgrades” separately from the monthly Newsletter/New Items. They’ll be flagged with a blue "UPGRADED" star next to the file name. We’ll be making announcements to those subscribed to our Advance Updates list, as well as in the Forums, Ted Greene Facebook page and Twitter feed. You can also bookmark this page to check regularly for new upgrades.
If you have your own collection of Ted Greene Lesson files, you’ll probably want to swap the old files for the new ones. We’ll be letting you know exactly what we do – the name of the previously posted file, as well as the new one. New batches of upgrades will be posted above the previous batch listed by date of upgrade.
UPGRADES: OCTOBER 16, 2019
For our October 2019 installment of the “Lesson File Upgrades” we have 4 new files to replace 6 files that were previous posted. Two are for the “Arrangements” section, one for the “Chord Studies” section, and one for the “Other” section under the “Harp-Harmonics” header. The harp-harmonics file is 3 pages that were combined onto one file.
Below is the list of what was done as far as the file names are concerned:
-----
In the Arrangements section:
America the Beautiful
Danny Boy (Londonderry Air)
“America the Beautiful” was posted in the Arrangements section years ago, and somehow got deleted or lost in the shuffle. So, even though there’s no file that this one is replacing, it’s still a “restore and upgrade.”
-----
In the Chord Studies section:
Using m7b5 Types in iim7b5 - V7 - i Progressions
-----
In the Other section under the “Harp-Harmonics” header:
Old files:
Harp Harmonics - Technique and Sustained Scales Pg.1
Harp Harmonics - Technique and Sustained Scales Pg.2
Harp Harmonics - Technique and Sustained Scales Pg.3
New file:
Harp-Harmonics - Technique and Sustained Scales
Ted’s grids were imported into new pages, spaced out, straightened out, cleaned up, and made more legible. This was a lot of work…all so you don’t have to strain your eyes. Enjoy!

All of these pages are published in Ted’s Single-Note Soloing Vol. I book (pages 11-33), and the presentation there is much better than the original hard-to-read sheets. If you don’t have that book you might want to think about getting a copy – there’s a lot of great information there!
